AFAS Online is online accounting, ERP and payrolling software for Dutch companies. AFAS Online has approximately 15.000 customers, including most of the top 30 accounting firms in the Netherlands. AFAS Online is the cloud version of the AFAS Profit business software. AFAS Online runs on a hosted Windows remote desktop session - similar to AFAS Profit - providing easy access to large volumes of business data. AFAS can manage hundreds of companies per environment. AFAS Profit is also known by the name 'AFAS Online'. AFAS Online is often used by users when referring to AFAS Profit and users may also mix both usages in written and oral communication.
Work with your AFAS Profit documents the way you work with any file
- Every document of AFAS Profit appears as a file in Windows Explorer, in a folder per company and per kind of document.

How Invantive Drive works
Install Invantive Drive on Windows and sign in with your Invantive Cloud account. A folder named Invantive Drive appears in Explorer with one folder per app, so AFAS Profit becomes a folder with a subfolder per company and per kind of document. Explorer lists the names, dates and sizes; the content of a document is fetched from AFAS Profit the moment you open it, and leaves no copy behind unless you choose to keep it offline. A cloud icon marks a file that is online only, a green check mark one that is kept on this device.
Where your AFAS Profit documents stay
In AFAS Profit. Invantive Drive shows them and does not copy or move them. You sign in with your own AFAS Profit account and see the companies and documents you may see there. Only a file you open is fetched, and only a file you change is sent back, and only to an app that accepts uploads. Every fetch counts as a normal request to AFAS Profit, visible per connection in the Invantive Drive window.
Not on Windows?
The file browser in Invantive Cloud shows the same AFAS Profit folders and files in your web browser, on a Mac, a tablet or a shared PC: browse, preview and download. Adding and renaming files from the browser is on its way.
